About the pharmacy
Where Boudreaux's is and what it makes
Boudreaux's New Drug Store traces its history to 1923. Jesse Vidrine and pharmacist Kylee Vidrine bought the Lake Charles store from the Boudreaux family in 2020 and run it as Vidrine Pharmaceutical Group, LLC. It is not connected to Boudreaux's Specialty Compounding Pharmacy in Shreveport.
Once a neighborhood drug store, it is now mainly a compounding pharmacy with sterile and non-sterile labs. Local news reported in 2025 that about 80 percent of its business ships out of state, 500 to 1,000 packages a day.
It is a 503A pharmacy, which means it compounds medication for individual patients against a prescription. It says it follows USP <797> for sterile compounding and uses third-party testing to confirm potency and sterility. Its tirzepatide and semaglutide are compounded with glycine.
