About the pharmacy

Where Hallandale is and what it makes

Hallandale Pharmacy is the trade name of Pharmcore Inc. Its Florida community pharmacy license was first issued in April 2003, and it has compounded from its current site on SW 36th Street in Fort Lauderdale since 2018, when it moved from Hallandale Beach. Hallandale says the facility covers about 60,000 square feet, with a 6,000-square-foot cleanroom.

It is a 503A pharmacy, which means it compounds medication for individual patients against a prescription. It also holds a Florida special sterile compounding permit and PCAB accreditation for sterile, non-sterile and hazardous-drug compounding.

Its GLP-1 vials contain the active medication with only a preservative and sterile water: tirzepatide at 10 mg/mL and semaglutide at 2.5 mg/mL, in 1 to 4 mL vials. Hallandale requires each prescription to state the clinical reason a compounded medication is needed instead of the commercial product.
